Huntingdon from John Smith for 94 pounds (Vol 9, p. 21). 26 Oct 1809 - Sold 32 perches to Jacob Swain for $30 (Vol. 13, p. 606). 1810 - South Huntingdon Township, Westmoreland County, Pennsylvania (Married w/4 children) (US Census, p. 124). 23 Nov 1814 - Release regarding Estate of Daniel Hill Sr. For the sum of $27 each, the following heirs of Daniel Hill Sr. released estate claims to Daniel Hill Jr. (Oldest son of Jacob Hill), acting on behalf of Jacob Hill eldest son of Daniel Hill Sr. and his first wife. (Power of Attorney from Jacob Hill to Daniel Hill Jr. to settle estate, 14 Feb 1814, Vol. 10, p. 496): John Hill, son Daniel Hill, son Adam Kline and Barbara Hill Kline, daughter John Snyder and Hannah Hill Snyder, dauhter Robert Boyd and Siby (Mary) Hill Boyd (deceased), daughter Martin Gafney and Molly Hill Gafney, daughter Mary Hill Dunkelberger Kunkle, daughter The above are children of Daniel Hill Sr. and second wife Barbara. Westmoreland County Property Records, Vol. 11, p. 32. 1815 - Moved to Clermont County, Ohio. Daniel Hill moved from South Huntingdon Township, Westmoreland County, Pennsylvania in Spring of 1815 with his family which included at least 5 children at that time. He purchased about 70 acres of land in the Big Indian Creek area of the Lawrence Traut Survey (#728), Washington Township, Clermont County, Ohio near the town of Pt. Isabel from Nathan Higgins on 30 May 1815 for $390. Daniel bought an additional (and apparently adjacent) parcel of about 31.5 acres from Barton and Susannah Lowe in Survey Area #728 on 13 January 1816 for $104.44. He remained here until he died. 8 Sep 1815 - Power of Attorney to Michael Altman to sell Barren Run Lands in S. Huntingdon Township. Power of Attorney issued at Washington Township, Clermont County, Ohio. 11 Apr 1816 - Sold 100 acres on Barren Run ( via Power of Attorney) to Jacob Aspey for $800 (Vol. 12, p. 194). 24 May 1819 - Washington Township, Clermont County, Ohio Census. Also identified in this Census are Michael Baum; Daniel, Lewis and Henry Camerer; Westley, Thomas and Alexander Phillips; Samuel and Isaac Stiers; and Nicolas Sr., Nicholas Jr. and Henry Swope. 1820 - Washington Township, Clermont County, Ohio (US Census, p. 22). 1822 (13 Nov.) - Cash purchase / Land Patent of 160 acres, NW, Section 22, Township 12-N, Range 9-E, Fractional Section N, 2nd Principal Meridian), Rush County, Indiana. Doc # 1970. Signature date 13 Nov 1822. Parcel was within 1/2 mile of parcel owned by son Jacob Hill. 12 Oct 1829 - Gifted 80 acres (WNW, Section 22, Township 12-N, Range 9-E, Fractional Section N, 2nd Principal Meridian), Rush County, Indiana) to daughter and son-in-law Hannah Hill Stiers and Alvah Stiers. 1830 - Washington Township, Clermont County, Ohio (US Census, p. 248). 1 Mar 1836 - Sold 80 acres (ENW, Section 22, Township 12-N, Range 9-E, Fractional Section N, 2nd Principal Meridian), Rush County, Indiana) to Benjamin Penn for $300. 1840 - Washington Township, Clermont County, Ohio (US Census, p. 186). 1845 - Died Washington Township, Clermont County, Ohio. Distributed his property equally among his seven surviving children (Property records of Clermont County, Ohio). Final estate inventory and sale bill filed October 7, 1845. Based on Census records, at least two of Daniel and Catherine's children died while minors. Records regarding Daniel's property transactions are held by Richard A. Hill. ____________________________________________________________________________ Richard Allen Hill visited South Huntington, East Huntington and other near by areas during May 1998. A search for Daniel Hill's property along Barren Run / Jacobs Creek was accomplished, but the specific land holdings could not be positiveley identified. Photographs of the area were taken. The general area is characterized by moderate size hills, narrow winy roads, and has been heavily reclaimed by forest with little farming being undertaken. Selected areas are being developed for rural residential use. Richard Allen Hill visited the Point Isabel area during May 1998. The property owned by Daniel Hill Sr., and later reassembled by Daniel Hill Jr. were visisted and photographed as was the property of Peter Camerer. These properties were moderately wooded in some instances and were not being farmed. A few nice rural homes have been built in recent years, and many manufactured homes of varying age were present. Point Isabel is not a functioning town and is in an advanced stage of decay. The area is characterized by moderate hills with ocassional open flat areas that are being farmed.
